Have you ever looked in the mirror and struggled to like the person looking back at you?
Maybe you’ve questioned your worth after rejection, compared yourself to others, or believed the lie that you’re not enough. Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to earn approval, prove your value, or become someone you thought others would finally accept.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
Many women know that God loves the world, but they struggle to believe that He truly loves them. The difference between knowing God’s love and receiving it personally can change the entire course of your life.
The enemy understands that if he can confuse your identity, he can delay your purpose. That’s why he whispers lies like, “You’re not enough,” “You’re too broken,” “You’re too old,” “No one sees you,” or “You’ll never change.” But those thoughts do not come from God.
God’s Word tells a different story.
Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) says:
“Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
God’s love isn’t based on your performance, your past, or your perfection. Before you accomplished anything, before you made mistakes, before anyone accepted or rejected you, God loved you with an everlasting love.
Your identity is not found in what happened to you.
Your identity is found in who God says you are.
You are chosen.
You are accepted.
You are forgiven.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
You are God’s workmanship, created with purpose.
One of the most practical ways to begin renewing your mind is to identify the thoughts you repeatedly believe and compare them to God’s truth.
For example:
- Lie: “I’m not enough.”
Truth: “My grace is sufficient for thee.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) - Lie: “I’m rejected.”
Truth: “He hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6) - Lie: “I don’t have a purpose.”
Truth: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Every time a negative thought enters your mind, pause and ask yourself:
Is this what God says about me?
If the answer is no, replace it immediately with Scripture. As you continue this practice, your mind begins to agree with God’s truth instead of your past experiences. This is how transformation begins.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) reminds us:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen one thought, one prayer, and one act of obedience at a time.
This week, spend intentional time in God’s presence. Read His Word slowly. Sit quietly before Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any false beliefs you’ve accepted about yourself and replace them with His truth. As you receive the Father’s love, you’ll discover that confidence grows, peace replaces striving, and your purpose becomes clearer.
You don’t have to spend another day living beneath your identity. You are God’s beloved daughter, and He has created you for far more than survival—He has created you to flourish.
